KNOW Abuse™ is a powerful, live dramatic performance that depicts teens in real situations and shows how abuse of power in relationships (both in dating and friendship) diminishes dignity, self-esteem and spirit. It’s the story of a group of high school students who find their values, beliefs and opinions of other classmates put to the test when a substitute drama teacher challenges them to speak the truth. The KNOW Abuse™ curriculum can be incorporated into any discipline, including health, English, physical education, or family living curricula.

Teen Advisory Board Comprised of area high-school students, this group meets monthly to discuss all aspects of the program, including identifying the issues and challenges facing teens today. The board helps the staff identify components of the program which work well and those which need updating. The board also helps the staff to raise funds to support the program through a number of student-led fundraisers throughout the year.

Educational Services JFSA professionals are available to speak with parents about healthy teen relationships, teen dating violence and bullying issues. Likewise, our staff can provide training for educators in grades 8-12 and assist in addressing school-wide strategies for preventing bullying and dating violence.

Support Groups  JFSA professionals can facilitate small groups of teen to students address violence in their relationships or by consulting with the school in this area.

KNOW Abuse™Peer Leadership Institute JFSA trains students to become Peer Leaders in their own school on the subject of teen dating violence and bullying. Students are trained by JFSA’s Teen Advisory Board members and cast members, supervised by JFSA staff.
