The Irving I. Stone Support Fund was established to embody Mr. Stone’s passion to encourage the next generation of Jewish leaders and present them an opportunity for a strong Jewish education and a love for Israel.  This scholarship is awarded to students attending Yeshiva University or an approved Seminary or Yeshiva first year study in Israel. In order to qualify for this scholarship, you MUST meet the following criteria:

  • Identify as Jewish, either by ethnicity or practice
  • Resident of Cuyahoga County or contiguous county
  • Family household income is $100,000 or less
  • Attend seminary in Israel or Yeshiva University
  • Plan on attending seminary/yeshiva full time
  • Students must submit grades each year

Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email confirmation. All new applicants will be called to schedule an in-person interview. You are required to submit the following at the time of your application:

  • A copy of your own personal and/or your parents’ 2017 1040 federal income tax form (or previous year if not filed)
  • Your most recent grades or transcript
  • Proof of seminary/yeshiva attendance/acceptance
  • Financial Aid Award letter (if available)
  • One (1) letter of recommendation
  • Recent photo
  • A personal essay* outlining:

a) Your reasons for seeking assistance
b) Any obstacles you have overcome
c) Your commitment to the Jewish/general community.
*You MUST submit a new personal essay each year you apply
