Domestic Violence Training for Attorneys

 

JFSA Cleveland is excited to announce it will co-sponsor training for attorneys on domestic violence and sexual assault at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association on February 29, 2012. The event is coordinated by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. Any attorney who attends and who is willing to make a pro bono commitment to domestic violence and sexual assault clients will be able to obtain their Continuing Legal Education credits at a significantly reduced rate. Interested attorneys do not have to currently be practicing in the domestic relations area.

JFSA Scholarship Deadlines

 

JFSA is accepting applications for the Jack W. and Shirley J. Berger Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who meets the following requirements:

-Must be a resident of Cuyahoga County or its surrounding counties.
-Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA in high school.
-Must have a minimum 1850 SAT or 28 ACT score.
-Must take a college course in comparative religion.
-Must be a full-time student seeking a secular education.


JFSA is also accepting applications for the Yoda Newton Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who meets the following requirements.

-May have faced adversity.
-May have contributed to the community through volunteering.
-Minimum 3.0 GPA

There are no restrictions in regard to race, ethnic origin or religion for either scholarship. The deadline for the Berger and Yoda Newton Scholarships is March 1, 2012.
