What does Community Care at Home do to ensure I
receive professional care in my home?
Community Care at Home trained home health aides are carefully
screened prior to placement in your home. All our trained health aides have
completed the following:
1. a personal interview
2. criminal background check
3. a written skills test
4. a personality profile assessment
5. verification of provided work references
6. completion of safety and orientation training sessions
Additionally, Community Care at Home Care performs
the following:
1. bonds each employee
2. insures all employees with professional and general liability
3. supervises and tests skills of home health aides in your home on an ongoing
basis
4. offers all employees continuing education courses
What kind of people do you hire to be Home Health
Aides?
Community Care At Home is an equal opportunity employer.

individuals must pass rigorous screening tests, pass a criminal background
check, perform a written skills test and personality assessment and complete
on-going safety and orientation sessions. In addition, all prospective Home
Health Aides are required to provide references which are verified before
employment is offered.
Do you have male aides?
We have a minimal number of male home health aides.
Can
we interview Home Health Aides?
Absolutely! Community Care At Home wants you to be very comfortable with your
Home Health Aide and interviewing them is an important way to ensure that
happens.
What kind of training do aides receive?
All Home Health Aides have at least one year experience,
are state tested or certified as a Home Health Aides. Each HHA's skills are tested prior
to an assignment and then annually. Each HHA must complete 12 hours of in-service
annually.
Client Service
What if I need to change my services? Or, what happens
if my Health Care Aide is sick?
Community Care at Home can be reached 7 days a week 24 hours a day. When your
service begins, we will provide an on-call number for you to reach an evening
and weekend staffing coordinator. If your aide is sick we will replace him/her
with another trained home health aide.
What kind of cancellation policy does
Community Care At Home require?
All we need is 24 hour notice.
What if a client is not happy with
their Home Health Aide?
If you are not satisfied with the service you receive from your Home Health
Aide for any reason, you can notify the agency immediately and we will replace
the HHA.
Billing & Fees
Will Medicare pay for your non-medical services?
No, Medicare does not cover homemaking, personal care,
assistance with activities of daily living, or custodial care services,
unless there is a skilled service being provided.
How often are clients billed?
Clients are billed every two weeks
Insurance
Are aides insured and bonded?
Yes, all aides are bonded and insured with professional and general liability
coverage.
Who is liable if a home health aide falls in the
home?
If the aide is injured, Workman's Compensation.
Do home care aides carry car insurance?
All aides who drive must have car insurance.
Transportation
Do home care aides drive?
If the family requests a driver they will be assigned a
HHA who can drive.
Do the aides have their own transportation?
The majority of the health aides have a car. Those who do not travel by bus.
Who pays for mileage?
If the health aide is driving the client in their car, the client pays $.405
per mile.
Other
Do they know about keeping kosher?
Our home health aides have initial training in kosher practices. However,
because those practices vary with each client, we ask that the client instruct
the aide on how they practice kosher.
Does the client get charged for breaks?
If the home health aide is away from the client and not
responsible for the client during that time, the client will not be charged.
