April 27, 2016 (Beachwood) PLAN of Northeast Ohio, a program of Jewish Family Service Association, is please to announce Carol Johnson as the recipient of the 2016 Volunteer of the Year Award.

Carol, a South Euclid resident, has been a PLAN volunteer since 2010, helping to facilitate the bi-weekly art therapy group. Thanks to her background in graphic design, Carol is able to assist PLAN members with various art projects using all different types of media. Every year Carol supports the traveling client art exhibit by coming early to set-up and staying late to clean-up. She also shares ideas for creative projects and has opened the floodgates of creativity for PLAN members. Recently, Carol stepped up to help with the JFSA Ascentia art therapy group in addition to her work with PLAN members. In total, Carol has volunteered over 700 hours to PLAN and JFSA. She has enriched the art therapy program with her caring, thoughtful, and giving nature.
