Norman J. Danzig Memorial
Award Presented to Philip Cohen
Presented by Jennifer Monahan, daughter of Norman J. Danzig

The Norman J. Danzig Memorial Award is presented to a young
leader of the agency that has displayed an exemplary commitment
to the community and the promise of continued leadership.
I am so pleased to be with all of you again this
year to honor a very special individual. This year’s recipient
is Philip Cohen. Phil, would you please join me at the podium.
A board member since 2003, Philip is the
treasurer and chair of the Finance committee and serves on the
Business Development, Audit and Compensation committees. He also
co-chairs the recently created Strategic Direction task force
and heads a sub-committee tasked with identifying ways to
improve JFSA’s collectables.
Phil has said he views one of his most important
responsibilities as treasurer is to strike the right financial
balance that enables JFSA to continue to provide the critical
services our community demands, while keeping a responsible eye
on revenues and costs. It’s a responsibility he takes seriously
and with complete professionalism. His time and experience have
contributed significantly to JFSA.
Phil also serves on a number of committees with
the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland including the
Allocations and Technology Committees. He is also a former board
member of the Siegel College of Judaic Studies and co-chaired
the ceremony installing the new headmaster and dedicating the
new middle school building for the Hawken School.
Professionally, Phil is the President of PRN
Funding, LLC, an accounts receivable factoring firm serving the
health care industry. A native of New England, Phil and
his wife, Lynne, have three children (Claire, Jacob and Natalie)
and live in Pepper Pike. And we are pleased that they are here
tonight to share in this honor.
Phil, congratulations and thank you for keeping
the memory of my father alive in the work you do for JFSA. May
you continue in your leadership role at JFSA. My family and I
are pleased to present you this award named in honor and memory
of my father, Norman J. Danzig.
